Anne Lise Kjaer is a global futurist, visionary thinker and entrepreneur with a long track record of assisting blue-chip organisations in shaping the strategies and core concepts driving tomorrow’s successful brands. Kjaer specialises in helping organisations navigate the future by analysing future trends and their impact on society, businesses and people. A frequent keynote speaker at business schools and international conferences, she is a figurehead in the global forecasting community. Kjaer says: “The future is not some place we go but one we create”.
Born in Denmark, Kjaer’s Scandinavian roots inform her value system and she strongly believes that the business case for the ‘Good Life’ will drive 21st century society. With a deep understanding of the Nordic Model, her socioeconomic and cultural insights span everything from money, government, transport, design, technology and sustainability to work, health, FMCG and ‘the next big thing’ in consumer culture.
Kjaer is founder and head of London-based trend management consultancy Kjaer Global, with an international client base that includes Accenture, Dell, Ericsson, European Commission, Herman Miller, IKEA, Microsoft, Marks & Spencer, Sony, Telefonica and Toyota. Kjaer holds the honorary title of Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassador (since 2004).
Since 1999, Kjaer has lectured in future thinking and trends mapping at world-renowned institutions, including Cranfield Business School, Central Saint Martins, Copenhagen Business School, Gray’s School of Art, Esade Alumni, Hertfordshire Business School, Lund University, Royal College of Art and Vlerick Business School.
She has delivered presentations to international organisations including Adam Smith Institute, Association of MBAs (AMBA), ESOMAR, European Commission, European Petrochemical Association, Palestine International Business Forum and TEDx. In 2010, she was invited to sit on the Advisory Board of Challenge Future, a global competition and think tank designed to foster creativity and innovation among young people.
Kjaer’s latest book – The Trends Management Toolkit: A Practical Guide the Future – is published by Palgrave Macmillian Business October 2014. She has co-authored and contributed to a variety of other international titles, most recently: There’s a Future (BBVA OpenMind, 2012); Successful Leadership (Finnish-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, 2012); Vision 2030 (Handelsblatt & Gabal, 2012) and Meta Products (Booreiland & BIS Publishers, 2011).
As an expert voice, Kjaer is often featured in the media, including in De Tijd, The Economist, Elle, El Mundo, Fast Company, The Financial Times, Gizmodo, The Guardian, Huffington Post, The Independent, The Times and on international TV.
